Hi, I like programming :3 and stuff. So basically I am kinda from rural Odisha and I had nothing better to do and my parents gave me unrestricted internet connection in 2014, and I picked up interest in technology and here I am. For my interest in programming: It started with me trying to make a game back in when I was in class 3 and for my interest in Linux it started when I was trying to be a cool l33t haxorman and downloaded kali Linux on family computer. Like every other kid, I messed up partitioning and deleted all of my family photos and data, but the learning experience was worth it I guess. I never really had any structured course or anyone to guide me, so I don’t really know how I learnt programming, but I would say I learnt a lot during the corona virus lockdown days as I was locked in room and I did some freelancing for clients from various countries for a bunch of steam gift cards.
My epic™ set of stuff I use
- 14-inch 2021 HP Pavilion which has soul of a thinkpad for some reason because once I froze it to -11°C and it still turned on. It has AMD Ryzen 5500U and 16GB of RAM. No hinge problem… YET.
- Menel Nia 87 with Creamy Purple switches. I love this keyboard, this is my first mechanical keyboard. My parents got it for me because I did well in JEE(it is a engineering undergrad entrance exam in India) :)
- Razer Deathadder essential
- Cannon M50 mk2, you can see the pictures I took in gallery
- Pens : Platinum Preppy for class notes, Jinhao too sometimes. Lamy Safary for use in home and other sophisticated® writing. Pentonic for exam.
- Sony XB 55AP (sorry I’m broke)
- Some random Huion graphics tablet my grandma bought for me on my birthday.
- Nothing Phone (2a) base configuration blue color
- Dev Boards I like are ESP32 and RPi 4 (I am a bit basic here)
Interests
- Programming : yippe yay computers~ thehehe silicon and germanium go brr
- Touhou Project : So like, My first contact with Touhou project was back in class 5, from the song “Marisa Stole the Precious Thing”, ever since then, I have known it more like a music genre, rather than a game. But in 2024, I finally downloaded Touhou 6 : EOSD for the first time… and I can finally call myself a Touhou Fan… My favorite game of the series are Touhou 7,8 and 10 & and my favorite characters are Lady Margatroid and Yuyuko. I use daiyosei as my username in lot of places but she isn’t really my favorite. Only touhou character I absolutely despise is Medicine Melancholy. I don’t have much to say on the ships. I like MariAli a lot.
- Music : Erm. I like Bhojpuri songs a lot, I like east and west coast rap, from all artists. And for Japanese songs, I like vocaloids(idk much about the girls, their voice is sweet), remixes of Touhou stuff. I also like Geometry Dash music, Russian Hardbass and all. My favorite artists would be Pawan Singh, F-777 and ZUN. I feel like I am a statistical anamoly for the Youtube Music’s recommendation engine TwT
- Birds : I like birds too, although I can’t name birds outside of family of parrots, I enjoy learning about them a lot. I even have a small yellow-sided green-cheeked conure named Venkataswar Chocolate Das or “Choco” for short. I want to have a pet owl in future.
- Gaming : I enjoy gaming even if I am bad at it. I am really bad at shooters but I still enjoy them. Every game ending leaves me like “woaw :o”, and I am really fond of story games. I really liked Half-life, GTA 4, Undertale and of course… Touhou project, I made a septate section for it… xD.
Software I use
Arch Linux on my laptop, I don’t understand how people break their system so easily. My laptop has a uptime for 2 months now, I just update the system using pacman and don’t even bother restarting, because I don’t need it. Arch Linux is easily very simple and I love it.
Debian on all my servers. Yes I know I said Arch Linux is stable… but I still am kinda scared. I don’t want things going wrong in my production servers. I just use the good ol’ time-tested Debian.
zed and vim are my favorite editors. I never really bothered trying neovim or any other flavors of vim, neither did I ever try Emacs. The reason I use vim is because my family computer was really bad so I was using sublime text back when I was learning to code, but it simply didn’t feel enough, so I ended up learning vim back when I was in 7th grade. Sublime Text has a special place in my heart. I did try vscode, it never ran on my family computer, so never used it much. I used to use PyCharm a lot, before I permanently switched over to Wayland. It simply didn’t run well on Wayland, so meh. And ever since zed came around, I have no reason to switch to anything else. Zed is my main and I use vim for quick edits.
I <3 Wayland, systemD and GNOME … sorry… I just… I am really sorry. I like using all 3 of them together….
Firefox browser is really nice. I use it everywhere. I kind of wish it worked better on phone.
